The main entry requirement of obtaining a visa in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its seven emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah) are that your passport is valid for at least 2-6 months before your arrival.
Tourist Visa (30 days stay)
Toursit visa applies to tourists who wish to spend more than 14 days and would like to stay upto 30 days in the UAE, whether it is to visit relatives or for business purposes. Validity of the visa is 58 days from the date of issue and the duration of stay is 30 days from the date of arrival. This visa must be sponsored by a United Arab Emirates company and will normally take 2-3 days to issue.

Tourist visa can be extended to another 30 days by paying Rs. 11500 only and in UAE at AED 950 providing passenger should request before 20 days of entry into UAE.
Tourist Visa (60 days stay)
Toursit visa applies to tourists who wish to spend more than 14 days and would like to stay upto 60 days in the UAE, whether it is to visit relatives or for business purposes. Validity of the visa is 58 days from the date of issue and the duration of stay is 60 days from the date of arrival. This visa must be sponsored by a United Arab Emirates company and will normally take 2-3 days to issue.

Transit/Service Visa
A transit/service visa can only be issued if a visitor has a valid ticket for an onward flight and this is a 14-days visa, also known as an Entry Service Permit. This visa must be sponsored by a United Arab Emirates company or hotel and will normally take 2-3 days to issue.

Overstaying
A penalty charge for first day is AED 200 and the following day thre after is AED 100 per day is imposed on visitors who overstay.
In case of visa holder overstaying or attempting any illegal activities in UAE Company is responsible for the fines occurred and will pay it. Overstaying fine is AED 8500 under the recent update in the entry permit rules and regulations dated August 2008.
If the overstay extends to a significant amount of time, then a court hearing is issued and the judge will decide what penalties will occur.
